Hex Nipple

Hex Nipple

A hex nipple is a fitting made from a piece of pipe with a hexagonal section in the middle for a pipe wrench to fit onto and tighten or loosen. A hex nipple can be made of stainless steel or a different metal. Threads on both ends of the hex nipple are used to connect two other fittings or pipes. When measuring, include the threaded area at each end of the nipple. A wrench is used to turn the piece into place on the hexagonal section of the nipple. Hex nipples with different sizes are classified as reducer or unequalled nipples.

Features

  • Highly durable
  • The centre of the fitting has a hexagonal section that is grasped by a wrench while assembling
  • Temperature resistant making them ideal for use in air conditioning, plant engineering, gas lines and lubricant pipework
